Dietary Directions, Inc. is proud to offer a Management Team concept to support its employees. The Management Team consists of Mary Vester-Toews, Lesli Doshier, Cheryl Engle, Nikki Andres, and David Trask. This team was chosen by Mary based on their location, account coverage, expertise, and longevity with Dietary Directions, Inc. The Management Team assists in the operations of the business. Each Team Manager is assigned specific dietitians whom they are responsible for training, supporting, and communicating with on a monthly basis. Communication is essential for business and we feel that our Management Team concept helps to foster this important link between employer and employee.
Mary Vester-Toews, RD is President of Dietary Directions, Inc and has over 35 years experience in health care facilities. She specializes in geriatric nutrition and consults for food manufacturers and distributors. Mary remains active in local, state, and national professional organizations including Past-Chair of the Consulting Dietitians of California and National Board Member of the Consultant Dietitians of Health Care Facilities practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. At the state and federal levels, she takes a strong role in nutrition legislation. Mary has been featured in the media for skilled nursing issues and combating nutrition fraud. She is a speaker at health care seminars at the state and national levels for organizations such as: AHCA, CAHF, HPSI, DMA, CD-HCF of California, and Sysco. Mary is an author of manuals and professional publications that are setting trends in dietetics. Mary has received distinguishing honors as Registered Dietitian of the year from HPSI and Distinguished CD-HCF Member of the Year for Area 1.
Cheryl Engle, RD has worked for DDI since October 2000. Her duties on the management team include assisting with the implementation, training, and oversight of our HMR (Health Management Resources) weight loss and weight management life programs. She currently consults to a Bariatric program; has experience in Skilled Nursing, Intermediate Care Facilities, and Adult Day Health Care. She is certified in Adult Weight Management, a member of the Consultant Dietitians of Health Care Facilities and Weight Management practice groups of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has served locally in numerous board positions for the Central Valley Dietetic Association of the CAND, including Treasurer, Secretary, Nominating Committee Chair, and Fundraising Co-Chair.
Nikki Andres, RD has worked for DDI since May 2005. Her duties on the management team include writing the quarterly company newsletter and supervising and coordinating dietetic interns for the Porterville Dietetic Internship. She currently serves on the board of the Central Valley Dietetic Association of CAND and Fresno's Leading Young Professionals (FLYP). She is certified in Adult Weight Management and currently consults to Long Term Care and Subacute Facilities.
David Trask has worked for DDI since August 2006 and as a dietitian since July 2008. His duties on the management team include supervising dietitians and editing publications. He has consulted in a variety of settings including skilled nursing, group homes, and acute care. David also works with local interns from both the California State University Fresno and UHC/WIC internships.
